Understanding The Plastic Extrusion Process
The plastic extrusion process is used to create many plastic items including adhesive tape, wire insulation, plastic pipes and tubes. At the beginning of the plastic extrusion process, small beads made from raw thermoplastic materials enter the plastic extruder where they are heated until melted. Once the plastic is melted and thoroughly blended, it passes through a filter to remove any particles and contaminates. During the next stage of the plastic extrusion process, the melted and filtered plastic enters the die where it is formed into the shape it will take as a final product. At the end of the plastic extrusion process, the plastic is then cooled with water.
