Street Painting Safety and Technique
Highway construction can cause an abundance of hazards. To protect the workers, it can be necessary to put partitions in the street painting curbs and lines on the road is otherwise very dangerous. For those that must work in the street painting lanes and signals onto the pavement, it is important to wear reflective clothing for safety. Those driving may not see the workers if the proper clothing is not worn. This is even more important if the construction is being done at night or in compromised weather. Luckily, not all line painting must be done by workers; street painting is often accomplished by someone on the back of a slow moving vehicle. A special painting apparatus is used for this technique. The end is held on the ground while the driver of the vehicle slowly moves forward to distribute the paint evenly.
