The first step in using your desktop scanner will be to install the scanner software. The scanner software provides you with the programs necessary for your scanner to transfer and store digital images to your computer. Once the scanner software is installed, the scanning process begins. Before you scan your document, you will lift the lid of the scanner, placing your document on the glass surface of the scanner. Once your document is placed on the glass window, shut the lid and click the scan button.
