It has been proven that patients undergoing continuous oxygen therapy as a treatment for COPD experienced a longer life expectancy than patients who underwent 12 hours of oxygen therapy at nighttime. While oxygen therapy is one option, there are many treatments that help provide patients with an improved quality of life.
