In the past couple of years, Baltimore county real estate has seen a resurgence of demand in the market, despite the obvious fall in nationwide real estate value. One realtor commented, "Every city you go to, you see empty or foreclosed houses lining the streets. Baltimore County real estate firms don't have that problem. Residents are flooding the market, and any empty houses you see will be filled soon." The reason behind the thriving Baltimore County real estate market is the desirability and affordability of the residences, a rare combination in today's market. One resident stated, "After the real estate market crashed I was looking for a new place to begin. Baltimore County provided that start. The housing is affordable, the neighborhoods are safe, and the market is still strong. I imagine that a lot more people are going to start moving here in the near future."
